Friday 2nd November 2012

The American Embassy has launched an online English-language club to encourage Libyan youngsters to improve their English communication skills.

The club, which is aimed at people between the age of 16 and 17 who can speak and write English at an intermediate level, will hold weekly online meetings supervised by a native English speaker.

Candidates will need to submit a short English essay of between 150 and 200 words explaining why they should be selected, with membership initially restricted to 12 students.

Prospective members will need to have a computer with access to the internet as well as a webcam, microphone and a headset.

All members will have to participate in the course for at least eight weeks.

The embassy will inform all candidates of the details via email, with applications to be sent to TripoliPAO@state.gov with “English Club” as the subject.
