In order to support Libya in restructuring its public sector, Dubai School of Government (DSG) has launched a training programme for senior leaders in the Libyan government and will train 300 select participants identified by the Libyan government in fields of management and leadership.

The training programme includes a series of workshops, seminars and specialised educational programmes. It will be implemented in three stages, each consisting of 100 participants to provide personalised attention. The first phase took off on Saturday March 30 and runs to April 25.

The initiative falls within the framework of the agreement that was recently signed between DSG and the Veterans Affairs Commission in Benghazi, to design and deliver an executive education programme under the title “Leaders Programme – Government of Libya”.

Dr Ali Sebaa’ Al Merri, Executive President of the Dubai School of Government, said: “The initiative comes as part of our continuous efforts to facilitate the development of public policies in the Arab world and strengthen management skills in institutions.”

The programme will cover areas such as strategic planning, quality and organisational excellence, as well as project management and financial priorities. As part of efforts to help participants understand work flows within government bodies and their best practices, field trips will be organised to government institutions in Dubai.
