Tripoli, 10 July 2014:

The government has decided to move the Foreign Ministry from its current headquarters in Tripoli because staff are refusing to come in following threats from gunmen believed to linked to militant revolutionaries. The ministry remains in a state of disarray after its one-day take-over by a group of armed men two weeks ago.

The Prime Minister’s Office has released a statement saying that the situation has marred Libya’s reputation abroad, which has been damaging both to the supreme interests of the state and to the interests of Libyan citizens at home and abroad.

Officially authorizing the move, the statement also noted that members of the Foreign Ministry would resume work from the new location.
